Make it a Movie Monday (12) Breaking Dawn DVD Winner’s Choice

This meme is a way to discuss the books that have made their way to film, or to talk about the books we wish would be made into a movie. You are open to talk about any book out there in any way that you want, as long as you discuss the book as if it were a MOVIE. Breaking DawnLast week Making the Grade held a “No Strings Attached” Giveaway for the Limited Wedding Dress Edition of Breaking Dawn Part 1 on DVD. Today we will feature the picks of the lucky winner.

And so, the winner of the Limited Wedding Dress Edition of Breaking Dawn Part 1 on DVD is…

Krysta (Morganlafey86(at)aol(dot)com)

Congratulations! Please email me at imakethegrade (at) gmail (dot) com with your mailing address so that I may get your prize to you. You have 72 hours to respond before I select a new winner.

Who would Krysta have play Bella and Edward? Check it out:

Bella Swan:

Emily BrowningEmily Browning – Born December 7, 1988, Emily is an Australian film actress, singer and fashion model. She won the 2005 AFI International Award for Best Actress for her role in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.Ironically, Emily turned down a request to audition for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight, despite an endorsement from series author Stephenie Meyer. In 2009, she was cast as Baby Doll in Zack Snyder’s action film Sucker Punch.

Great choice, Krysta! I am curious as to whether or not you had known that Emily was an original contender for Bella. I could definitely see her play the part!

Edward Cullen:

Colton HaynesColton Haynes - Born July 13, 1988, Colton is an American actor and model. At the age of fifteen, Haynes began modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch while living in NYC. After moving to Los Angeles, CA, he began acting in television series such as CSI: Miami and Pushing Daisies. He won the role of Brett Crezski, a jock who turns into a werewolf, on the ABC television series, The Gates, which premiered on June 20, 2010. Lately he is also known for his role as Jackson Whittemore in MTV’s dramady Teen Wolf.

Though I am not familiar with Colton Haynes, I could see him as Emily’s partner. Great choice with this one, too!

Again, congrats to Krysta for winning the Breaking Dawn DVD and thank you for sharing your cast picks with us.

Thank you ALL for reading my MAKE IT A MOVIE MONDAY!

Make it a Movie Monday (11) The Twilight Saga

This meme is a way to discuss the books that have made their way to film, or to talk about the books we wish would be made into a movie. You are open to talk about any book out there in any way that you want, as long as you discuss the book as if it were a MOVIE. TwilightThis week my meme will focus on The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. Now that all four (er, five) movies have been filmed, and the final chapter will be released this November, we’ve seen how Stephenie’s stories have come to life on film. For better or worse, when we see “The End” later this year, it really will be THE END… For now. (Who knows, right?)

After seeing both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the roles of Bella and Edward, I can’t help but wonder who else could have just as easily played the star-crossed pair. Who would I have play Bella and Edward? Check it out:

Bella Swan:

Lily Collins – Yes, the actress who will soon be playing the role of Clary in The Immortal Instruments movies by Cassandra Clare. She would have been my favorite Bella, as well. Not that I don’t think Kristen did well. (Actually, don’t ask me that…)

Lily was born in Guildford, Surrey, England, and is the daughter of English musician Phil Collins, and his second wife, Jill Tavelman. Her mother is American. She was Sandra Bullock’s daughter in The Blind Side, played opposite of Taylor Lautner in Abduction and was Snow White in Mirror, Mirror. But her biggest role yet will be in The City of Bones, the first film adaptation of the New York Times bestselling The Mortal Instruments novels by Cassandra Clare, playing sixteen-year-old Clary Fray.

Edward Cullen:

Chace Crawford - Chace has the charismatic looks and timeless appeal that I initially imagined for Edward as I was reading Twilight. Robert Pattinson pulls off Edward better than I thought he would, but…

Chace currently portrays Nate Archibald on the CW television drama Gossip Girl. He has also been cast to star along with Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Chace has also starred in numerous independent films, such as the recent movie Twelve and Peace, Love and Misunderstanding. He’s still waiting for his big film break, as you can see… Too bad his break didn’t come through with the role of Edward.
