Make it a Movie Monday & Giveaway (8) STARTERS

This meme is a way to discuss the books that have made their way to film, or to talk about the books we wish would be made into a movie. You are open to talk about any book out there in any way that you want. For example: Who would you have play the leads in the movie? Who would direct? Animated or live action? Etc. For more info about how to include your own Make it a Movie Monday (MiaMM) on your blog, click here.

This week my meme will focus on STARTERS by Lissa Price – A new, suspenseful dystopian tale that is – without a doubt – one of the most exciting and enjoyable books I have read so far in 2012. Although it’s her debut novel, Lissa has certainly hit the ball out of the park with this story – a story that I believe has true blockbuster potential. For that reason I am beyond thrilled to showcase STARTERS on my Make it a Movie Monday. You can also read our review of STARTERS by clicking here.

Making the Grade is thrilled to provide you the opportunity to WIN a SIGNED ARC of STARTERS as well as some super awesome swag! (The giveaway entry form is linked at the bottom of this post.)

In the future, teens rent their bodies to seniors who want to be young again. One girl discovers her renter plans to do more than party–her body will commit murder, if her mind can’t stop it. Sixteen-year-old Callie lost her parents when the genocide spore wiped out everyone except those who were vaccinated first–the very young and very old. With no grandparents to claim Callie and her little brother, they go on the run, living as squatters, and fighting off unclaimed renegades who would kill for a cookie. Hope comes via Prime Destinations, run by a mysterious figure known only as The Old Man. He hires teens to rent their bodies to seniors, known as Enders, who get to be young again. Callie’s neurochip malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her rich renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, even dating Blake, the grandson of a senator. It’s a fairy-tale new life . . . until she uncovers the Body Bank’s horrible plan…

  1. Paola Conigliaro

    This is so exciting! :o)

  2. Love your cast! But I thought that Callie was blonde? Didn’t she say that she could have looked like Emma from the back and Emma was blonde?

    • That’s a tough one to answer, since Lissa has stated in an interview that she kept Callie’s appearance vague for a reason, supposedly so the reader could imagine her for themselves. I may have missed the Emma reference, though! 🙂

  3. Today there are many companies which claim to offer the reliable background check services but their
authenticity can be judged through background on myself check.
It is a huge list of information that the
companies have to maintain and hence they charge a minimal fee to do the checks for you as maintaining this information can be a little expensive.
Many organizations now share such information through industry guilds, making lying on resume to gain advantage not worth its while.
